If you’re from Detroit, you just get it. Sports are huge for us, and whether you prefer to watch the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, or Pistons, Detroit fans are loyal, committed, and sometimes a bit on the crazy side. In short, we go hard, and 2019 – 2020 Detroit Sports will be no different.
Ours is one of only twelve cities in the United States that has a professional basketball, football, hockey, and baseball team. Although being dubbed “Hockeytown” means the Red Wings hold a special place in a lot of our hearts, millions of people flood into Detroit to see all four of the teams, during both the good seasons and the tougher seasons.
Nothing beats heading down to the D for a game day. The bars and parking lots are full of tailgaters and you can feel the comradery in the air. This is something that not all cities have for their sports – the Detroit spirit is unique.

Detroit Sports 2019 – 2020: A Lot to Look Forward to
As huge Detroit sports fans ourselves, D&D Executive Transportation has rounded up some things to look forward to with our 2019 – 2020 Detroit Sports Preview:
Lions 2019 – 2020:
Despite their many ups and downs, the Detroit Lions have one of the most dedicated fan bases of any team in the NFL. While it’s a long way from being over, the Lions are finally giving us something to be excited about during this Lions 2019 season. Whether we can make it to one of those elusive Super Bowls in the near future or not, nothing beats watching a Lions game at Ford Field with 65,000 other die-hard fans.
Red Wings 2019 – 2020:
Few teams are as iconic as the Detroit Red Wings. One of the Original Six NHL teams, the Red Wings have called Detroit home for nearly 100 years. Now, with the legendary Steve Yzerman back managing the Wings, Detroit sports 2020 just got a major boost. With Stevie Y and the rest of the team playing in the brand new Little Caesar’s Arena right in the heart of Midtown, going to Red Wings 2019-20 games is something to get excited about.
Tigers 2019 – 2020:
The Detroit Tigers are the oldest continuous one name, one city franchise in the American League of Major League Baseball. Just as iconic as the Detroit Lions and successful as the Detroit Red Wings, the Tigers boast four World Series championships and eleven American League pennants. Recently, we’ve had a couple of disappointing seasons, but there is still plenty of hope for the Tigers 2020. The best part about baseball? They have more games than any other pro sport. That means plenty of chances to come down and see a game and plenty of time to redeem a string of losses.
Pistons 2019 – 2020:
There’s nothing like having all four professional Detroit teams back in the city. All three arenas or fields (Little Caesars Arena, Ford Field, Comerica Park) are within walking distance of each other, forming a nucleus of Detroit sports activity right in the heart of Downtown and Midtown. As for Pistons 2019 – 2020, we’ve got Derek Rose and a brand new practice facility, hopefully meaning we’ll see a solid squad this season.
